Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 July 2026
Your journal entries, your conversations, and how you have been feeling are among the most private things a person has. You have trusted us with them. This page explains exactly what happens to them — in plain language, with nothing hidden in the middle. We have written it to be read, not to be survived.
NeuroKind AI is operated by NEUROKINDAI (SMC-PRIVATE) LIMITED ("we", "us"), the company responsible for the data described on this page.
The short version
- We never asked for your email or your phone number. We still do not have them.
- We do not sell your data, and we never will. Not to advertisers, not to insurers, not to employers, not to anyone.
- Your employer cannot see you. If you joined through a workplace Wellness Circle, they see group averages only, and only when at least five people contributed to a number.
- You can delete everything. One tap, in the app, no email to support, no waiting period.
- Some things we never store at all. Thought Burn and Secret Message are written, released, and gone.
Everything below is the detail behind those five points.
What you tell us when you join
We only collect what the app needs to work for you. When you create an account, that is:
A username you choose — So you can log back in. This is the only identifier we hold. It does not need to be your real name, and we would gently suggest it is not.
A password you choose — To protect your account. It is stored in a securely scrambled form — we cannot read it, and neither can anyone else.
Gender (optional) — To help us understand who the app serves. "Prefer not to say" is a real and equal option, and choosing it changes nothing about how the app works for you.
We do not ask for, and do not have: your email address, your phone number, your real name, your date of birth, or your home address.
What you create while using the app
This is your wellness data. It exists so the app can show you your own patterns over time.
- Mood, sleep and energy check-ins, including the times you logged them
- Your daily wellness checklist completions
- Your Stability score for each day
- Journal entries you write and save
- Conversations with the AI companion
- A running summary of those conversations, so the companion can remember your story between sessions
- Goals and habits you have started, and your daily progress on them
- Streaks and badges you have earned
- Which daily suggestions you completed, skipped, or said did not help — so the suggestion engine can learn what works for you specifically
What we store when you use certain features
Partner Link — The connection between two accounts, the invite code, your shared hug streak, and when hugs were sent. Your partner sees your Stability score and nothing else — not your mood entries, journals, conversations, habits or goals.
Wellness Circle — Your membership, your randomly generated four-character member ID (like A7K2), your role, and the dates you joined or left.
Notifications (only if you turn them on) — A device token so notifications can reach your device, and your timezone so your morning check-in arrives at 8 a.m. where you actually are. If you never enable notifications, we never collect either.
Payments — Your subscription status and what you purchased. Payments are handled by third-party providers under their own security standards — your card and banking details go directly to them, and never pass through or get stored on our systems.
What we deliberately do not store
- Thought Burn — what you write is never saved anywhere. It exists on your screen, and then it does not.
- Secret Message — the same. Written, released, gone.
- Your device location — the app never asks your device where you are.
- Anything else on your device — no contacts, no photos, no files, nothing about your other apps.
What stays on your device
To make the app open instantly and work offline, your device keeps a local copy of some of your own data — your recent check-ins, journals, goals, habits, badges and reports. This lives on your device only.
Two things are deliberately excluded from that local copy: your conversations with the AI companion, and live Partner or Circle information. Conversations are excluded specifically for your privacy, so that a shared or lost device does not expose them.
Clearing your browser or app data removes this local copy. It does not delete your account.
Who else is involved in running the app
We keep this list short on purpose, and we will always tell you the truth about it.
Our secure hosting and database provider — They store the data described above on our behalf, under contract, encrypted. They do not use it for anything of their own.
Our AI processing provider — When you message the companion, or a report or journal insight is generated, the relevant content is sent to a specialist AI provider to produce the response. It is processed to answer you, and is not used to train public AI models. Your username is not sent with it.
Our notification delivery service (only if you enable notifications) — They deliver the notification to your device. The content is a short generic message — your wellness data is never inside it.
Our payment providers — They process your payment and hold your payment details under their own security standards. We never see or store them.
We do not share your journals, conversations or wellness data with advertisers, data brokers, insurers, employers, or anyone else. We have never sold data and will never sell data. We will only disclose data if legally compelled by a valid legal order — and if that ever happens, we will tell you unless the law forbids us.
Wellness Circle — what your organisation can and cannot see
If you joined through an employer, university or other organisation, this is the section that matters most. We built it so that you do not have to take anyone’s word for it.
Your organisation’s administrators can see:
- Group averages for Stability, mood, sleep and energy across all members
- Group trends over the last 30 days
- How many members contributed to each figure — shown as, for example, "28 / 34 members"
- How many people joined or left in the current month
- A list of anonymous member IDs on the roster
Your organisation’s administrators cannot see:
- Your name or username. You appear only as a random four-character code such as A7K2.
- Any of your individual data. Not your mood, sleep, energy, Stability score, or one single entry.
- Your journals or your conversations. These are never part of any group feature in any form.
- Which numbers came from you. Every figure is an average across at least five people.
Three protections that are built in, not promised:
- The five-person rule. No number is ever shown unless at least five members contributed to it. Otherwise the screen says "Not enough data." There is no way to reason backwards to an individual.
- Departure privacy. In circles with fewer than 15 members, the individual join-and-leave log is hidden entirely — only monthly totals are shown.
- The identical dashboard. Administrators see exactly the same screen you do. There is no manager’s view, no hidden drill-down, no privileged export, and no raw data option.
Leaving. You can leave your circle at any time, in one tap, from your profile. Your seat is freed, and the group figures simply recalculate over everyone who remains.
Your conversations with the AI companion
They are stored. Your conversations are saved, and a running summary is kept as well — this is what allows the companion to remember your story between sessions instead of starting cold every time.
They are not read by us. No member of our team reads user conversations as a matter of course.
They are not used to train public AI models.
Clearing works properly. When you clear a conversation, it disappears from your view permanently — including after reinstalling, clearing device storage, or signing in on another device. A real fresh start.
Deleting your account removes them.
How long we keep things
We keep your data for as long as your account exists, because that is what makes the app useful — a Stability graph is only meaningful with history behind it. When you delete your account, your profile and personal data are deleted.
One honest exception. If you were a member of a Wellness Circle, an anonymous record that a message allowance was issued during the current billing cycle remains until that cycle ends. It contains no journal, conversation, or wellness data, and nothing that identifies you — it exists purely so that deleting and recreating accounts cannot mint unlimited free messages. It expires on its own.
How we protect your data
- Everything travelling between your device and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard protection.
- Data is stored encrypted.
- Passwords are stored in a securely scrambled form that cannot be reversed — we could not tell you your own password if you asked.
- Your data is only ever reachable by your own signed-in account. Group features are the only exception, and produce only anonymous, five-person-minimum averages.
No system anywhere is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise. But we designed this so that the most sensitive thing we could lose is the least identifiable — because we never collected the identity in the first place.
An important thing about passwords
Because we never asked for your email address, we have no way to reset your password or recover your account if you forget it. There is no reset link we can send you, because there is nowhere to send it.
This is the direct cost of the privacy we have built, and we would rather tell you clearly than have you discover it at a bad moment. Please save your password somewhere safe.
Your choices, always available
- See your data — It is all in the app, yours to look at any time.
- Delete a journal entry — One tap on the entry.
- Clear your conversations — One tap in the chat screen. Permanent.
- Turn notifications off — One toggle on your profile.
- Leave a Wellness Circle — One tap on your profile.
- Cancel a subscription — One tap. Your extra message packs are kept.
- Delete everything — Profile, then Delete Account. One confirmation, then it is done. No email to support, no waiting period.
Young people
NeuroKind AI is intended for people aged 16 and over. If you are under 16, please do not create an account without a parent or guardian’s involvement. If we learn we are holding an account belonging to someone below that age without appropriate consent, we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything meaningful here, we will tell you inside the app before it takes effect — not with a silently updated date on a page you would never revisit. You can always read the current version from your profile.
